About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Support Shop Manager to join our team at Oxfam GB. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing operational support to our shops within a defined geographical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Create and Maintain Inclusive Shop Environments**: Develop and maintain inclusive, respectful, and safe environments in the shops, ensuring that all customers and staff feel valued and supported.
  • **Effective Shop Cover**: Collaborate with Area Manager and shop managers to allocate shop cover effectively, ensuring that all shops are adequately staffed and operational at all times.
  • **Team Building and Motivation**: Build trusting relationships in each shop to maintain engaged and motivated teams, providing coaching and guidance as needed to support team members in achieving their goals.
  • **Sales and Revenue Growth**: Maximise Net Sales Contribution (NSC) and Gift Aid (GA) in all covered shops to agreed targets, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing strategies to achieve them.
  • **Continuous Improvement**: Deliver continuous improvement support against specific KPIs, working closely with shop managers and area teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • **Feedback and Handovers**: Develop and deliver a framework for feedback and handovers, ensuring that all team members are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • **Community Engagement**: Actively contribute to the local community and wider Retail network, building relationships with local stakeholders and promoting Oxfam's values and mission.
Requirements
  • **Previous Retail or Operational Management Experience**: Proven experience in a retail or operational management role, with a strong understanding of shop operations and management.
  • **Agile and Adaptable Working Style**: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.
  • **Excellent Communication and Relationship-Building Skills**: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with team members, shop managers, and external stakeholders.
