We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinician or scientist to join our team as a Clinical Neuropathology Research Fellow. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our research and scholarship activities, focusing on the clinical and pathological aspects of acute brain injury.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our Centre for Excellence team to design and implement a research project investigating the prehospital phase of traumatic brain injury.
- Work alongside our Academic Lead for Head Injury and Data Analyst to ensure the appropriateness of data collection and analysis.
- Lead the convening of academic meetings themed for Traumatic Brain Injury, and contribute to the development of scholarly descriptions of the process.
- Work with our Patient and Family Liaison Team and Patient and Public Involvement groups to ensure patient-centered approaches to research.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant ethics committees and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of sample collection standard operating procedures and processes, and contribute to the development of funding proposals to support research projects.
- Deliver presentations at conferences, symposia, and events to a variety of audiences, including subject matter experts.
- Maintain professional registrations as required for the role, and demonstrate a commitment to the EHAAT values.
- Relevant first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Authorship of an academic thesis, dissertation, or similar.
- Demonstrated knowledge of neuroscience relevant to this role.
- Ability to manage scientific data independently, and experience with statistical methods and software packages.
- Ability to critically appraise scientific data.
- Working understanding of the principles of traumatic brain injury management.
