We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in mainstream secondary schools across Liverpool. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and SENCOs to implement tailored learning strategies and promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN
  • Supporting students with their academic work and adapting materials to suit individual learning needs
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning strategies
  • Helping to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional resilience
About You:

We are looking for individuals who have experience working with children or young people with SEN in any capacity. You should have a genuine passion for helping students with additional needs achieve their full potential. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working in a secondary school setting is a plus but not required
  • Enhanced DBS check and on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
