About the New Product Development Manager Role

This company, a leading provider of premium quality specialist products to food manufacturers, foodservice, and retailers throughout the UK, is seeking a skilled Product Development Manager to support the food product development process.

As a key member of the NPD team, your role will be to ensure the successful development and launch of new products, working closely with the Development Chefs, NPD Technologists, operations, and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and run trials for new products and EPD projects, ensuring seamless handover to production and launch.
  • Maintain the day-to-day upkeep of the recipe system and manufacturing instructions, guaranteeing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, from concept to launch, meeting customer and business needs.

Requirements

  • Degree-educated in food science, food technology, or a related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in food product development, with knowledge of factory processes and conducting factory trials.
  • Desirable qualifications include Level 2 Food Safety certificate and Level 2 HACCP qualifications.
  • Experience working with food service customers and retailers is an advantage.

The Product Development Manager will be based in South Wales and will receive an excellent salary according to experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday per annum and a great employer's pension contribution.

The working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to support trials, launches, and other business needs.
