About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join our team at SEWS-E's Headquarters site in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of raw materials used in our manufacturing process. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain a high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and procure raw materials from a global supply base, including direct and indirect purchases
  • Identify and evaluate potential alternative suppliers to reduce business risk and improve quality
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, quality, and service with suppliers
  • Follow up on awards until completion of order and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Target year-on-year cost reductions and improve supplier performance
  • Review and process purchase requisitions to ensure compliance with applicable requirements
Requirements
  • Experience in the automotive industry, preferably with knowledge of plastic and rubber parts
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing constraints and processes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Computer literate in MS Office
