Senior Estimator Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Maxim Recruitment. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimating department and taking off and pricing residential projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in estimating in a Professional Quantity Surveying PQS practice or main contracting firm. You will be conversant in all major forms of contract, particularly JCT, and have experience in using Microsoft Office especially Excel.

As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for controlling numerous projects simultaneously and have excellent management skills. You will also be able to interface with all supply chain members from both suppliers and subcontractors on all aspects associated with tenders from enquiry to contract award.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to provide support and assistance to colleagues and accounts team in peak periods. You will also be responsible for chasing supplier, sub-contractor and manufacturer quotations, and answering incoming telephones, taking messages or re-directing as appropriate.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in estimating in a Professional Quantity Surveying PQS practice or main contracting firm.
  • Experience in taking off and pricing for residential new builds.
  • Conversant in all major forms of contract, particularly JCT.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office especially Excel.
  • Ability to control numerous projects at any one time.
  • Good understanding of the building industry.
