Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Principal Design Strategist to enhance our project team.

Location:
This role is based in the London area, with necessary travel to various sites.

Contract Type:
Permanent, Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Principal Design Strategist, you will collaborate with the Senior Digital Construction Manager and Building Services Leads to ensure seamless coordination of the design delivery process across all disciplines.

Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Providing expert technical guidance for your designated Function (Healthcare/Public/Residential/Commercial), ensuring best practices are applied throughout the Pre-Con/Design/Delivery/Aftercare phases of projects.
  • Establishing your Function as a center of excellence through in-house training, continuous professional development, and tailored staff development plans. Conducting Fire, Quality, and Design startup meetings to thoroughly assess the design and delivery process, identifying all associated risks and opportunities.
  • Reporting directly to the Technical Assurance Director and working in partnership with the relevant Sector Lead/Region Director to oversee the design and quality of a portfolio of projects within your area of expertise.
  • Managing SDM/DM/ADMs as necessary, providing direct oversight on tenders and indirect support on active projects in collaboration with the project management team. Acting as a mentor and career manager for your team members, fostering their development both within your specialty and alongside other Function Leads.
  • Regularly liaising with the Technical Assurance Director and Sector Lead/Region Director, visiting site teams to ensure compliance with obligations and reviewing design programs and processes to guarantee satisfactory project performance.
Qualifications:
This position is ideal for candidates who possess:
  • Experience conducting site audits.
  • Experience performing VLT reviews on assigned projects.
  • Proven background in a design role within a main contractor setting.
  • Experience with BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data and LoDM.
  • A valid UK Driving License.
