About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team at Kier Group. As a key member of our engineering consultancy division, you will play a crucial role in delivering design solutions, technical advice, and engineering support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Checking: You will be responsible for designing and checking permanent and temporary works, above and below ground, in all materials, integrated with permanent works design if applicable.
  • Alternative Solutions and Value Engineering: You will contribute to the delivery of complex services by providing safe and buildable solutions, enhancing our reputation and competitive position.
  • Tender Stage and Bid Winning Support: You will provide support at the tender stage, focusing on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Technical Assessment and Review: You will review 3rd party designs, ensuring compliance with the brief to meet client and Kier requirements.
  • Team Management and Mentorship: You will manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their careers.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer: You must be a chartered engineer or be working towards becoming one.
  • Interest in Permanent and Temporary Works Design: You should have a strong interest in permanent and temporary works design or have experience in this area.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: You must hold a full UK driving licence.
