About the Role

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to join our team at York Community Stadium. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the designated area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the department you are assigned to is cleaned in accordance with the work schedule for that area, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery.
  • Undertake specialist cleaning as required under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Department Manager and/or Infection Prevention Department.
  • Use machinery/equipment in accordance with your training to prevent endangering yourself and others.
  • Ensure all cleaning materials and disposables are used economically and are stored securely and safely in your work area.
  • Ensure that while carrying out your duties, the correct color-coded equipment is used to prevent cross-contamination.

Requirements

  • Able to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to undertake cleaning duties involving lifting items and operating cleaning machinery, some of which is industrial standard.
  • Good basic education, including reading and writing, plus basic numeric skills.
  • Basic understanding and a willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training, including customer service training (or to be completed within 6 months of employment start date).
