York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP) is in search of a Logistics Operations Coordinator (Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) to deliver a dependable and professional service by transporting the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) from the Transport Department to designated community locations, assisting the Chemotherapy team on-site, and returning the MCU at the conclusion of the treatment day.

Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Operations Coordinator (Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) will primarily be tasked with:

  • Transporting the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) between various locations.
  • Setting up and preparing the MCU for use by the Chemotherapy nursing staff and patients.
  • Securing and closing down the unit at the end of each treatment day.
  • Conducting daily road safety inspections, reporting any issues, and coordinating necessary repairs.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the MCU, both internally and externally, including the onboard equipment.
  • Providing assistance to the Chemotherapy nursing staff and patients.

The Transport Department also offers a reliable transport service on behalf of the Facilities Management for various healthcare organizations, including hospitals and GP surgeries in the surrounding areas. In instances where the MCU is not operational, you may be required to assist the Transport Department with other services, which may involve handling and transporting a variety of items, including:

  • Medical equipment
  • Controlled substances (signed collection and delivery)
  • Food supplies
  • Medical gases
  • Pathology specimens
  • Soiled linen
  • Furniture

You will be accountable for the secure delivery and safety of all items during transit.
