About the Role:
We are collaborating with Carrington West to find a talented and driven Senior Urban Planner to become a vital part of their innovative Local Plan Promotion team.

In this position, you will deliver precise and professional planning guidance and services concerning strategic planning policy issues. You will also participate in business development initiatives and contribute significantly to the growth of their project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for sites through the Local Plan framework, including submissions, Hearing Statements, and Advocacy Reports.
• Investigate and formulate planning policies to direct development effectively.
• Conduct statistical evaluations and research, including socio-economic data, to bolster site advocacy.
• Execute planning assessments to determine the development viability of various sites.
• Generate comprehensive reports with clear recommendations.
• Engage effectively with all stakeholders involved in the planning process.

Qualifications:
• Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
• Demonstrated planning experience within a consultancy or local authority setting.
• Profound understanding of the planning process, especially Local Plans and Planning Policy.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and report writing capabilities, including familiarity with Local Plan submissions and Hearing Statements.
• Confidence and capability to lead project teams and interact with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

Commercial Acumen:
• Ability to manage workloads, budgets, and coordinate projects alongside colleagues and sub-consultants.
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
