We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our thriving Older Adult Community Mental Health Services team in South West Kent. As a Specialty Doctor, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues in adults over 65, including some younger adults with early-onset conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct outpatient clinics, home visits, and residential/nursing home reviews to assess and treat patients with mental health issues.
- Contribute to the memory assessment service and see diagnostic cases to provide expert medical knowledge and support to the multidisciplinary team.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Participate in the West Kent On-call rota, requiring Section 12 approval for Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments, to ensure timely and effective care.
- Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and Trust mandatory training to stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and research.

Requirements- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- At least 6 months experience of older adult psychiatry within the last 5 years.
- Completed minimum of three years full-time training in psychiatry.
- Excellent knowledge in specialty and clinical expertise in the assessment and management of risk.
