About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Practitioner Psychologist to join our team at With You. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting our initiative to address underlying trauma and psychological issues within our drug and alcohol services.

As a Lead Practitioner Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group, working closely with our team to develop and implement effective psychological interventions. Your expertise in CBT and motivational interviewing will be invaluable in helping our clients overcome their challenges and achieve positive outcomes.

We are looking for a compassionate and empathetic individual with a passion for developing skills and supporting others in the delivery of psychologically informed work. You will receive regular clinical supervision and professional support from a more senior Practitioner Psychologist in substance use, and will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to clients with co-existing substance use and mental health needs
  • Develop and implement effective psychological interventions, working closely with our team to achieve positive outcomes
  • Supervise the practice of psychology staff, including practitioner and assistant psychologists
  • Contribute to the development of our psychological services, including the design and delivery of training programs
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and address gaps in service provision, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent
  • Completed training course in clinical supervision
  • Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist, with evidence of continuing professional development
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a practitioner psychologist, with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the substance misuse field, with a minimum of 1 year's experience post-qualification
  • Advanced training in an evidence-based psychological therapy for substance misuse
  • Experience of working across multiple service bases within a designated geographical area
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialized psychological assessments and interventions

Desirable Skills:

  • Accreditation with BABCP as a supervisor or trainer
  • Experience of providing psychological treatments for trauma, including EMDR and trauma-focused CBT
