Position Overview
Mission Possible Partnership is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Decarbonization Expert to support the delivery of our Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) work programme.
The successful candidate will leverage their extensive expertise and knowledge of end-to-end project life-cycles to support the strategic development and delivery of multiple ITA workstreams. This is a varied role that requires the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, while also leading and delivering their own projects and discrete deliverables where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the strategic development and delivery of projects and workstreams related to long-distance transport sectors.
- Act as the go-to subject matter expert for ITA.
- Lead projects and discrete deliverables related to transport sectors, effectively keeping within agreed timeframes.
- Build and maintain relationships with a range of public and private sector stakeholders in the relevant industries.
- Work alongside other ITA project leads to respond to fast-moving priorities.
Requirements:
- Mid-career professional with extensive experience in a high-caliber environment (relevant corporates, government, or top-tier strategy consulting firm).
- Demonstrated expertise within the long-distance transport sectors (focusing on aviation and shipping), including solid working knowledge of decarbonisation technologies and solutions.
- Experience building and working with analytical tools, particularly relating to industrial and heavy transport decarbonization, and cross-cutting energy solutions (bio-energy, hydrogen, CCUS, renewables).
- Proactive and self-starter, appetite for working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, high-quality communication: verbal, written, presentation. Ability to develop compelling narratives based on quantitative and qualitative data, and write concise, well-structured documents conveying clear but subtle messages.
- Collaborative team player, with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Ability to develop and nurture trusting relationships and partnerships with a range of stakeholders (inc. senior executives) from different organisational and geographical horizons.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills, excellent digital skills.
- Flexibility in approach and comfortable in an entrepreneurial/start-up environment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in economics, climate-related discipline, or STEM subject.
Desirable Requirements:
- Stakeholder engagement experience: bringing together diverse stakeholders from private sector, policy, and finance to work on energy and industry decarbonization solutions.
- Experience working in/with membership organisations, and the corporate, NGO and policy worlds.
Location: Remote working from locations within European or US time zones
Conditions: Remote working with some travel/access to office in some locations
Reports to: Deputy Director ITA
