Role Overview

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include supporting contract oversight within the Property Service, covering areas such as repairs, maintenance, voids, compliance, and construction projects.

You will have the chance to conduct financial reviews of contractor invoices and verify valuations for precision. Additionally, you will assist in drafting specifications and sourcing competitive bids for services and works for the Council.

You will gain invaluable experience in budget oversight, aiding in the management of both capital and revenue budgets to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and financial regulations.

Furthermore, you will cultivate relationships with service providers, partners, and stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To thrive as a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you should possess a strong desire to pursue and complete a BSc in Quantity Surveying.

Familiarity with standard IT software, including Microsoft Office and Teams, is essential. Experience in a housing maintenance or commercial setting will be advantageous.

Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to evaluate and assess options are crucial for success in this role.
