Senior Ecologist Opportunity

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Penguin Recruitment. As a Senior Ecologist, you will lead a team of skilled ecologists, providing expert advice, managing projects, and ensuring the successful implementation of survey and mitigation strategies across a wide variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of ecologists and provide expert advice on ecological projects
  2. Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
  3. Develop and implement survey and mitigation strategies to minimize environmental impact
  4. Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest ecological legislation and best practices

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Ecology or a related field
  2. Extensive experience conducting protected species and habitat surveys
  3. Proven leadership and project management experience, particularly in managing large and complex projects
  4. Strong knowledge of UK and European ecological legislation
  5. Excellent report writing skills, including PEA, EIA, and BNG reports
  6. Protected Species Licence(s)
  7. Proficiency with QGIS and other ecological software
  8. Full UK driving licence
  9. Right to work in the UK
  10. CIEEM Membership
