We are seeking a seasoned Global Warehousing Director to become an integral part of our team. This position oversees the distribution across five distribution centers globally, catering to retail and wholesale clients, distributors, and direct consumers. The role entails managing a substantial annual warehousing budget, ensuring cost efficiency and performance, while collaborating with third-party logistics providers to support Joseph Joseph's growth objectives. The Global Warehousing Director will report directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and play a vital role in the global supply chain leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of three, with complete P&L and cost accountability for global warehousing operations.
  • Manage relationships with our international third-party logistics partners (3PL).
  • Work alongside our 3PLs to identify and implement improvements in operational efficiencies, focusing on cost, time, service, and quality.
  • Establish KPIs that accurately reflect the performance of our global warehouses in terms of cost, quality, and service.
  • Conduct regular reporting on inventory excess and obsolescence, along with managing inventory write-offs.
  • Ensure comprehensive visibility of stock movements from inbound supply to outbound shipments through effective systems and reporting.
  • Oversee the operational onboarding of new customers.
  • Drive enhancements in processes and systems, identifying cost-reduction opportunities with warehouse partners. Ensure seamless integration of our systems with 3PL providers for efficient information flow.
  • Continuously assess and develop our global warehouse network, evaluating current facilities to determine when upgrades or changes are necessary, including managing new contract tenders and implementing new warehouse locations aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Manage both internal and external reporting requirements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse management, with a proven track record of advancement to a leadership role.
  • Experience managing one or more 3PLs across various locations.
  • History of driving operational efficiencies within warehousing and enhancing effectiveness.
  • Background in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, with an understanding of success factors in these environments.
  • Experience managing a significant multimillion-pound budget with full P&L responsibility.
  • Skilled in managing team performance, development, and training.
  • Direct experience in e-commerce, both B2C and B2B.
  • Proven expertise in warehousing service provider tender processes, rate negotiations, and implementing new service providers.
  • Preferably familiar with SAP and knowledgeable about EDI connectivity.
  • Adept at extracting, manipulating, and presenting data from various sources (ERP, Data Warehouse, WMS & TMS), with strong proficiency in Excel.
