About the Role:

At Nordcloud, we are seeking a Principal Engineer (internal title: Principal Architect) to take a leading role in our cloud initiatives. You will be instrumental in guiding our clients through their cloud transformation journeys, focusing on key areas such as infrastructure, migration, data management, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical authority, leveraging your hands-on expertise to challenge traditional IT and cloud paradigms.
  • Design and implement architecture for both new and ongoing projects, ensuring robust and scalable cloud solutions.
  • Conduct thorough technical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to uphold high standards in deliverables.
  • Streamline infrastructure management and deployment through automation using various scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the seamless integration of cloud solutions.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to enhance understanding among clients and internal teams.
  • Architect and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructures utilizing AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Engage in strategic discussions with clients to align their cloud strategies with overarching business objectives.

Essential Skills:

  • Profound understanding of public cloud services, particularly AWS and Azure.
  • Demonstrated experience in application and infrastructure architecture within cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting capabilities in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools, including Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and the ability to adapt them to meet client requirements.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to lead discussions and influence key decisions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in English communication.
