About the RoleThis fixed-term position will cover a maternity leave and is an excellent chance to gain experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Children & Young People Officer, you will be responsible for promoting participation and engagement among children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver participation groups, feedback activities, and schemes of direct work to maximize engagement and participation.
- Work collaboratively with children, young people, parents, and families to involve and include them in service design and delivery.
- Support the Council's Corporate Parenting and SEND Strategy by delivering a high-quality offer to promote and enable children and young people's engagement and participation.
- Build effective relationships with a wide range of organizations and individuals to ensure the needs of local young people are met.
- Educated to GCSE O Level standard at Grade C or above or equivalent.
- Experience of working in a health, education, or social care environment with children and young people.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to deliver training and presentations.
- Ability to engage positively with children, young people, and their parents.
- Understanding of the needs of local young people, including those who are cared for or care experienced and/or have a special educational need and disability.
