About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EC&I Technician to join our team at Daldowie Treatment Works, one of the largest plants of its type in Europe. As a Shift Operator/EC&I Technician, you will play a critical role in the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation and control of our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Shift Team Leader and Senior Operator in ensuring plant operation delivers maximum financial contribution by completing routine production shift duties.
  • Operate on 6 production units and associated dryer and LTP plant, and perform direct plant-based duties.
  • Assist in delivering optimal performance by reducing losses and maximizing dryer evaporative loading.
  • Monitor and control the operation of common plant and emergency services.
  • Respond to emergency situations and unprecedented occurrences when required.
  • Perform duties that encompass production, quality, sampling, thermal process, and maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure optimum plant availability by providing rapid response to EC&I defects.
  • Support the Lead Electrical Engineer and Electrical Engineer in routine EC&I work when shift operational demands allow.
Requirements
  • Education to at least HNC level or recognized Apprenticeship.
  • Plant experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment, including 3-phase motors and associated switchgear, variable speed drives, soft starts, circuit breakers, motor control centers, and 3-phase and single-phase distribution systems.
  • Process plant experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and calibration of plant instrumentation and control systems, including systems for the measurement of temperature, pressure, level, flow, oxygen, and pH.
