Job Title: AWS Deployment Lead

Location: Fully Remote

Salary: £70,000

Role Overview: As an AWS Deployment Lead, you will oversee the deployment of upgrades to our SaaS clientele while managing unique deployment scenarios for on-premises customers. This position requires close collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams to proactively address changes and releases. You will also serve as a key point of escalation for deployment-related challenges and inquiries, offering expert guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all upgrades and deployments with precision.
  • Enhance our deployment and upgrade processes and pipelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, maintaining a high personal brand.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from our customer base.
  • Work alongside engineering and customer success teams to deliver timely solutions and workarounds.
  • Act as a point of escalation for deployment-related issues within Product Support.
  • Conduct postmortems and root cause analyses (RCA) on any unsuccessful upgrades, ensuring resolutions and implementing lessons learned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in written English.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Robust troubleshooting mindset with a dedication to learning new technologies.
  • Familiarity with:
    • GNU/Linux (CentOS and/or Debian based distributions)
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure): EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC
    • PostgreSQL
    • Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
    • Troubleshooting performance and TCP/IP issues
    • SaaS application architecture
    • Terraform
    • Git and version control

Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of SAML integrations and associated challenges.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (bash, python, Golang, or similar).
  • Knowledge of REST API and Postman.
  • Ability to write database queries.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar).
  • Experience with OpenShift.
