Senior Staff Nurse

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our Endoscopy team. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise shifts, ensuring effective communication with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-led care to patients.
- Exercise clinical judgment and decision-making about patient needs, adhering to locally agreed protocols and individualized care plans.
- Foster a supportive working environment and maintain staff morale.
- Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to patients, adhering to the NMC code of conduct.
- Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.
- Assist with local or trust initiatives to ensure continuous improvement of quality services and safeguarding of high standards of care.
- Be aware of all hospital policies and procedures, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure adherence.
- Unrestricted NMC Registration to practice.
- Clinical supervision training/experience.
- Postgraduate level at the relevant specialty/continuing professional education.
- Highly proficient in all aspects of endoscopy practice (pre-assessment, procedure room, admissions, and recovery).
- Experience in conducting clinical audits.
- Experience in facilitation, teaching, assessing, and coaching of endoscopy team members/students.
- Demonstrable experience in deputising for the Charge Nurse (Band 7) and completion of managerial responsibilities.
- Experience in completing JAG Accreditation clinical documentation.
- Evidence of organizing and delivering education to the specialty group and wider clinical staff group.
- Competent in giving IV medication.
- Competent in venepuncture and cannulation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
