Job Role: Disrepair/Legal Building Surveyor

Location: London/Southeast

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our team at Innovus. As a Disrepair/Legal Building Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering market-leading solutions and professional services to our clients.

Main Purpose of the Role:

  • Conduct surveys and diagnose areas of disrepair, particularly damp and mould, as required by the client Letter of Claim as a single or joint expert.
  • Prepare impartial expert witness reports with photographs compliant with CPR35.
  • Utilize your expertise in Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 sections 9, 10, 11, and Human Habitation Act.
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain the Innovus brand.
  • Manage a portfolio of cases and work effectively under pressure.
  • Collaborate with the Surveying and Projects Manager to identify and drive improvement opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Survey properties and prepare specifications of works.
  • Prepare documentation in accordance with CDM 2015 and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Supervise works to buildings to ensure excellent customer care, exemplary contractor performance, and technically superb, completed work.
  • Contribute to excellent contractor and consultant performance management.
  • Identify potential business opportunities outside of core clients and assist the Surveying and Projects Manager in obtaining new business with external clients.

Qualifications:

  • MRICS or FRICS qualified.

Experience:

  • Substantial technical surveying experience in the Property Management environment with a wide range of building types.
  • Demonstrable successful project delivery experience managing contractors and consultants as required.
  • Sound commercial understanding of a surveying 'practice' and ability to clearly articulate commercial performance with senior managers.
  • Experience and willingness to build relationships with the team to identify and drive improvement opportunities.

Technical Skills:

  • Project management and delivery skills.
  • Experience of Insurance Remediation works.
  • Understanding of building structure and materials to support the Technical Services team (EWS1 / FRAEW).
