Job Summary

Safran Landing Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gate 1 Supervisor to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of work and tactical delivery of parts through processes to support production plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Gate 1 and Gate 2 teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and minimize internal rejects.
  • Accountable for and supervise dedicated focals in your area of responsibility to control key processes, including 5S, Calibration, Maintenance, Health & Safety, Tooling, and GPI's.
  • Ensure adherence to works procedures and SOP's at all times.
  • Take accountability for Continuous Improvement initiatives, including process mapping, kaizen events, and 5S.
  • Knowledge of Safran Landing Systems Quality Management System and ability to apply Problem Solving and 8D techniques.
  • Effective control of WIP levels, rotable piece parts, and SPT reduction.
  • Reduction in operating costs and enhancement of standardized best practice.
  • Champion adherence to Airworthiness regulations and ensure compliance via robust and accurate works procedure reviews.
  • Adherence to and delivery of the Overhaul and Repair programme activity.
  • Effective people management and use of reports and application of tool kits to support performance, conduct, absence, wellbeing, annual leave management, and overtime reviews.
  • Effective management of the training skills matrix and looking ahead to ensure team flexibility.
  • Optimize labour to meet demand and eliminate bottlenecks while utilizing cost-efficient shift patterns.
  • Build and deliver recovery plans where necessary.
  • Shared responsibility for budget adherence.
  • Participate in Production Activity Control (PAC) meetings and revise schedules through agreement with the Master Production Scheduler and Programme Managers.
  • Optimize the utilization and efficiency of equipment.
  • Enhance Employee Engagement - Contribute to QRQC meetings and own action plans associated to improvements in internal quality/rejects. Update during monthly reviews.

Safran Landing Systems is a centre of excellence dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of landing gears and associated components for civil, military, and helicopter aircraft. With over 220 employees, the team supports the overhaul of more than 350 legs per year, with a dedicated team of engineers to support customers on-wing when issues emerge in service.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications, in particular PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
