Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team at CareTech Group. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings, including residential, education, and off-site activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide physical and emotional support to young people, enabling them to develop and reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of young people.
- Build positive professional relationships with young people and other staff members, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
- Assist young people with their medical and welfare needs, reporting as required and contributing to the medical audit process.
- Monitor young people's condition, checking temperatures, respiration, weight, and contributing to record-keeping in the Master Care Plan.
- Support young people in maintaining their personal cleanliness, general hygiene, and appearance, including intimate care and invasive care when trained.
- Keep up-to-date with and promote various communication and information systems.
- Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate, contributing to the effective planning, preparation, supervision, and review of routines, social, and recreational activities.
- Take responsibility for completing activity planners, sign-in/out books for on/off-site activities, and provide constructive feedback to support workers to improve their performance.
- Notify management promptly of any matters relevant to the well-being of young people.
Requirements:
- Level 3 RQF certificate in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to carry out effective debrief.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
