Job Package:

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including:

Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to act as a Paraplanner within the business, supporting the Financial Planners in delivering high-quality financial advice to clients. This includes performing senior administrative duties, client research, report construction, and client contact, ensuring the highest possible standard of client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and obtain information necessary to compile clients' recommendations/cash flow forecasts.
  2. Compile draft net worth statements, income and expenditure statements, and financial cash flow forecasts.
  3. Carry out technical calculations.
  4. Undertake research both independently and with the Financial Planners to identify suitable solutions to meet the client's needs.
  5. Produce clear, technically accurate, compliant, and concise Financial Plans and Suitability Reports as per the Advice Process.
  6. Undertake necessary research and analysis, including fund analysis, product comparison, product analysis, and charges analysis.
  7. Follow the advice process for new and existing clients, recording, monitoring, and reporting on progress.
  8. Ensure that potential service delivery failures are brought to the attention of Directors.
  9. Deliver an efficient and valuable service by operating in a timely fashion and offering constructive ideas and feedback.
  10. Check files are fully compliant.
  11. Build a strong working relationship with the Advisers to provide exceptional support in the delivery of their business strategy.
  12. Provide consistent, effective communication allowing clients to have confidence that their instructions and requests are understood.
  13. Drive your own Continual Professional Development by seeking opportunities to upskill in areas that you have gaps in knowledge.
  14. Liaise with Directors regularly to update, maintain, and review work in progress and task lists.
  15. Compile meeting preparation packs and attend meetings when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years paraplanning experience.
  • On route to completing Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning – DipPFS or equivalent.
  • Working towards Chartered would be a bonus.

You will have a working knowledge of core financial products, including pensions, ISAs, Investment Accounts, Bonds, Venture Capital Trusts, Enterprise Investment Schemes, and all forms of protection. You should also be aware of all relevant FCA regulations and guidelines relating to financial services, including MiFID II, GDPR & PRIIPS.

To be efficient, diligent, and disciplined in all tasks undertaken. Must be a great team player and able to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues. High attention to detail is essential.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and proficiency in investment research tools and analysis, experience of cash-flow planning tools, and excellent organisation, communication, and numeracy skills both written and oral. You should have the ability to work accurately under pressure of tight deadlines, prioritise tasks, and remain calm under pressure. Additionally, you must be able to work from your own initiative and possess excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

You will have the required skills in Adobe, Word, Excel, and Outlook, alongside other system-specific knowledge, to create all necessary documentation, templates, and reports to brand guidelines.
