Position Overview:
Venesky-Brown is seeking a dedicated Environmental Protection Officer/Technical Assistant to join a public sector organization. This role is offered on an initial contract basis with a competitive hourly rate, and it includes a hybrid working model requiring in-office presence for part of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of contaminated land, air quality assessments, private water supply oversight, and the regulation of industrial activities.
- Address statutory nuisance complaints and investigate pollution-related issues affecting the community.
- Provide guidance to planning and licensing departments.
- Conduct site inspections, respond to complaints, and implement necessary actions.
- Prepare detailed reports and actively participate in relevant meetings.
- Perform additional tasks as required by the organization.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a related position.
- Knowledge of contaminated land, air quality standards, private water supply regulations, and pollution management.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle a diverse workload.
- A relevant degree in Environmental Health or a related discipline is preferred.
