Position Overview:

Venesky-Brown is seeking a dedicated Environmental Protection Officer/Technical Assistant to join a public sector organization. This role is offered on an initial contract basis with a competitive hourly rate, and it includes a hybrid working model requiring in-office presence for part of the week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of contaminated land, air quality assessments, private water supply oversight, and the regulation of industrial activities.
  • Address statutory nuisance complaints and investigate pollution-related issues affecting the community.
  • Provide guidance to planning and licensing departments.
  • Conduct site inspections, respond to complaints, and implement necessary actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and actively participate in relevant meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a related position.
  • Knowledge of contaminated land, air quality standards, private water supply regulations, and pollution management.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle a diverse workload.
  • A relevant degree in Environmental Health or a related discipline is preferred.
