About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineering Area Manager to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineering technicians, ensuring they work in a safe, standard, and efficient manner. They will also work closely with the wider network to harness technical expertise and build solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure they are working effectively.
  • Collaborate with the team and wider network to develop and implement solutions that improve equipment availability and safety.
  • Work with the Site Safety department and Site Leadership to implement and audit safety and statutory compliance programs.
  • Develop and implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to ensure high equipment availability.
  • Organize and direct the training program for the team to ensure sufficient technical coverage.
  • Support local and EU-level projects as assigned by the manager.
  • Be prepared to work on shift to maintain a strong connection with the team and daily work.

Requirements:

  • Degree or NVQ Level 4 in a relevant engineering discipline or served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship.
  • Significant practical engineering experience, including a supervisory role managing people.
  • Experience of automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
  • Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, CAD).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full working knowledge of specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the Fulfillment Center, as well as maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs.
  • Experience with Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Process.
