We are seeking a skilled History teacher to join our dynamic school community in Kingston upon Thames. As a Cover History Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring students continue their historical journey, fostering a love of learning and a deeper understanding of the past.
Key Responsibilities:- Craft compelling narratives: Design engaging lessons that follow the curriculum, but don't be afraid to weave your own narrative magic Adapt your approach to cater to different learning styles and make history relatable.
- Empower young historians: Encourage students to ask questions, analyze primary and secondary sources, and develop their critical thinking skills. Let them become active participants in shaping the historical narrative.
- Bridge the past to the present: Help students connect the past to the present world, fostering a deeper understanding of current events and their role in shaping history.
- Collaborate for success: Work closely with the History department and school leadership to ensure a smooth learning experience for all students.
- A strong subject knowledge in History.
- Holds a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent desirable).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A passion for engaging students and making history come alive in the classroom.
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
