About the Role

Coveris - Winsford is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance packaging solutions. Our Winsford site produces polythene film for various industries, including agricultural, industrial, and food-based sectors.

We are seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join our Engineering department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing breakdown and maintenance cover on a diverse range of plastic film producing machinery and ancillary support equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Safety and Maintenance: Ensure all equipment on site is in a safe condition and complies with current Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Machine Fault Response: Respond to machine faults across site, as directed by the Engineering Cell Managers / Production Cell Manager / Extrusion Cell Leader.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance as directed by Engineering Management.
  • Breakdown and Maintenance Records: Complete breakdown and maintenance records for all work undertaken on site.
  • Engineering Support: Interact with onsite Engineering stores personnel, including booking parts out of stores, assisting in sourcing alternative parts, and returning unused parts to stores.
  • Meetings and Training: Participate in meetings, supervision, training as requested.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post.
Requirements
  • Engineering Qualification: A recognised Engineering apprenticeship to ONC/HNC or equivalent Engineering qualification.
  • Electrical Controls Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical controls (PLCs, Contractors, Relays, VSDs, etc.).
  • Weighing and Tension Systems: Working knowledge of weighing and tension systems (Load cells etc.).
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic Systems: An understanding of pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Engineering Experience: Experience of engineering systems, including planned preventative maintenance.
