Job Title: Advanced Audiologist, Advanced Clinical Scientist (Audiology)

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Advanced Audiologist, Advanced Clinical Scientist (Audiology) to join our team. As a key member of our Audiology department, you will be responsible for delivering a designated specialist service, providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex hearing and balance disorders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a complex caseload of patients with significant autonomy, working closely with the Audiology Service Manager/Professional Manager.
  • Conduct routine and complex assessments of hearing, balance, and tinnitus disorders, interpreting test results and developing comprehensive management plans.
  • Provide rehabilitation techniques, including counseling patients and carers about hearing loss and associated problems.
  • Assess suitability for hearing aid/cochlear implant and carry out appropriate intervention, monitoring benefit and developing care pathways.
  • Communicate assessment and intervention outcomes to patients, parents, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements:
  • MSc in Clinical Audiology or equivalent level of knowledge/expertise.
  • Registered to practice as an Audiologist/Clinical Scientist with HCPC or RCCP.
  • Significant post-graduate experience in relevant clinical area.
  • Evidence of post-graduate CPD.
  • Applied theoretical knowledge of assessment and therapeutic procedures for audiological or vestibular conditions.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a team and deliver clinical and non-clinical tasks with autonomy.
  • Participation in research and development activities, including audit of clinical outcomes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including working with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
Contract:

Permanent, part-time position.

Salary:

£54,320 to £60,981 per annum, inclusive of HCAS, pro-rata.
