Job Overview

The role involves assisting the Distribution Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the department within the branch and the marketplace. This is achieved through a focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture, all while adhering to the company's policies and procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Process and input all customer orders and distribution accounts on a daily basis.
  • Generate stock reports to verify product availability.
  • Create all necessary documentation and information for customer work orders, ensuring all orders meet special requests and updating inventory records.
  • Conduct precise and timely data entry for receiving, order allocation, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate urgent shipping requests with the Transportation and Operations Departments, expediting orders as required.
  • Track orders as needed and inform customers of any updates regarding their orders.
  • Record all receipts, putaways, moves, picks, shipments, and cycle counts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers by addressing all inquiries and complaints regarding work orders, invoices, shipments, and inventory counts in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Communicate customer feedback to management, including any indications of customer dissatisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, including internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer requirements.
  • Achieve KPI standards as outlined by the company.
  • Facilitate a smooth and timely freight process flow.
  • Escalate issues to Management when necessary.
  • Participate in training sessions as required, meeting the company standard of 52 hours of training per year.
  • Promote adherence to all company policies and regulations, performing tasks with integrity and pride.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate effectively to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Proactive and well-organized.
  • Experience with systems is essential, along with the ability to quickly learn proprietary in-house systems.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Training and Education:

  • Must meet the company requirement of 52 hours of training annually.

Experience:

  • Preferred education level is GCSE Standard in Maths and English.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Prior experience in inventory control and/or distribution operations is advantageous.
  • Counter-balance Forklift License is required.
