Position Overview

Due to ongoing demand and our ambitious growth plans, Turner & Townsend is seeking to hire Senior Estimators with demonstrated expertise in the Infrastructure sector, specifically in Rail, Airports, Highways, Power, Water, or Utilities. Opportunities are available across various locations.

As a Senior Estimator at Turner & Townsend, you will play a crucial role in delivering value to our clients by acting as an integrated resource within their teams or providing specialized support for multiple clients within the Infrastructure domain as part of our Estimating Hub. While the majority of our projects are for clients based in the UK, there may be opportunities to work remotely on estimating tasks for international clients as needed.

Our team is responsible for producing a diverse array of Estimating outputs that assist clients in their decision-making processes, including:

  • Creation of Estimates (ranging from Order of Magnitude estimates to detailed estimates developed from first principles)
  • Estimating Assurance
  • Support for Major Programme Setup
  • Estimating Data Management

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Estimator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating precise and thorough estimates and cost plans for projects in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Overseeing and managing the estimating process at the project level.
  • Producing estimates independently without the need for supervision.
  • Promoting and developing best practices in estimating within Turner & Townsend.
  • Contributing to the achievement of departmental goals.
  • Keeping updated with advancements in your technical area of expertise to provide best practice guidance aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high level of qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience.
  • Successful experience in providing estimating and/or Quantity Surveying services within a large project environment.
  • Prior experience with estimating software applications.
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization with chartered status or working towards it.
  • Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
