Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer to join our team and provide 3rd line level support to a range of applications and platforms. This role is integral to the BAU operations and will contribute significantly to projects, new system builds, and various support requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Work closely with both local and centralized support teams to meet project timelines and agreements.
  • Engage with customers, necessitating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to travel, primarily within Europe.
  • Develop and execute action plans to maintain compliance with standards such as ISO27001 and ISO9001.
  • Address incidents logged through the ITSM Portal by end users and participate in the Major Incident Response Team.
  • Participate in the On-Call Level 3 Application rotation to address high-priority issues outside of regular business hours.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Debian 11 and Ubuntu 24.04.
  • Proficiency in containerisation technologies, particularly Docker.
  • Skilled in Ansible for automation purposes.
  • Strong capabilities in querying databases such as Microsoft SQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Cassandra.
  • Experienced with web servers like IIS, Apache, and Nginx.
  • Flexibility in working hours and availability for out-of-hours on-call support.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of SSL Certificates and virtual server platforms.
  • Familiarity with Octopus deployment automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated experience in 3rd line support.
