Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant - Special Needs Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with global developmental delay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to the pupil, ensuring they can access the curriculum alongside their peers.
  • Assist the class teacher in differentiating learning activities to meet the pupil's unique needs.
  • Foster the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Implement specific learning strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO and class teacher.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to the pupil's individual education plan (IEP) reviews.
  • Support the pupil during unstructured times, such as playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly global developmental delay (desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • Be able to work as part of a team, showing flexibility and a proactive approach.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
