Job Summary

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Prestwick site. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the translation of design engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or products to customer and regulatory authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate design engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or products.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to achieve significant productivity and quality improvements.
  • Define and optimize hard-to-satisfy quality standards and long-term manufacturing costs.
  • Manipulate CAD data to support work activities as required.
  • Support the Material Review Board (MRB) process by providing engineering instructions relating to rework, scrap, and future prevention of non-conforming products.
  • Liaise with operators, design, and regulatory authorities to ensure product integrity and compliance.
  • Provide engineering/manufacturing support to external customers and contractors.
  • Create, maintain, and audit engineering processes.
  • Work closely with design to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and quality improvements.
Requirements
  • 2 years of relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement Toolset.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
