About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our team in the Surgical and Amputee Team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • To play a major and specialist role in the advanced assessment, treatment, and clinical management of patients with vascular disease and patients pre and post major amputation.
  • To determine clinical diagnosis, functional deficits, and occupational treatment programs required.
  • To work dynamically in developing efficient and effective occupational therapy working processes to assist in producing a fully multi-professional team approach.
  • To work with the Clinical Lead Therapist to develop the service to best meet changing health and social care agendas.
  • To be responsible for a team of staff in their clinical area and may be required to work in more than one specialty area.

The Surgical and Amputee Team at Barts Health NHS Trust is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that provides care to patients with vascular disease and patients pre and post major amputation. We are committed to providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements
  • Diploma/degree in OT or physiotherapy.
  • Registered with Health Professions Council.
  • Experience as a senior OT or physiotherapist.
  • Extensive postgraduate inpatient experience across a range of acute/rehab settings, including vascular and amputee.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience supervising and appraising staff.
  • Experience of audit/research.
  • Documented evidence of CPD, in accordance with HPC recommendations.
