Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse - Children's and Young Person's Day Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to join our paediatric team at Worthing Hospital. As a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in leading and delivering effective care to children and young people in our Children's and Young Person's Day Unit (CYPDU).

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of nurses in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children and young people with nursing needs.
  • Ensure the effective coordination of care and resources to meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise and mentor student nurses, paediatric nursery nurses, and healthcare assistants to promote a supportive learning environment.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and their families, demonstrating effective communication and listening skills.
Key Requirements
  • NMC registration and substantial paediatric experience.
  • Leadership and management skills, with experience in managing beds and patient flow.
  • Ability to administer medications and ensure safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence of teaching and assessing.
