WORK STRUCTURE

This position offers a hybrid working model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office. You will engage in various projects across Wood's extensive client portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your Role:

  • Lead project initiatives as a Senior C&I Engineer, managing instrument scope while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Conduct instrument engineering tasks, including Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards as outlined in your performance contract.
  • Enhance working practices and systems to promote continuous improvement.
  • Execute tasks in alignment with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality protocols.
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work.
  • Identify and manage scope and schedule modifications following the Change Control Process.
  • Guarantee that designs meet all relevant procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Strive to complete all assigned work within the agreed budget and timeline.
  • Stay informed about technical advancements, national and international standards, and legislative requirements pertinent to the discipline.
  • Assist in the preparation of project estimates and schedules.
  • Foster effective communication with clients and conduct site visits as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in projects related to the Energy, Chemicals, and Refining sectors.
  • Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Experience working within project teams as a Senior C&I Engineer across various industry sectors, managing small to large capital projects from concept to execution.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in developing Instrument Engineering deliverables tailored to specific project needs.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is preferred.
  • Experience in specification control and safety system upgrades is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of field instrumentation, analyzers, and safety systems.
  • Experience in sizing flow devices, control valves, and relief devices.
  • Participation in HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews, and SIL Determination is desirable.
  • Familiarity with IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture.
  • TUV or similar Functional Safety Engineer qualification is a plus.
  • Experience with Fire & Gas systems and detection equipment.
  • Knowledge of IT, Telecoms, Networks, Access Control, and CCTV Systems is beneficial.
  • Expertise in managing Instrumentation and Control requirements for Mechanical packages.
  • Experience liaising with Client Engineers to facilitate project execution.
  • Proficient in vendor management to support project execution.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in relevant codes of practice and standards.
  • Experienced in design and assessment methodologies used within the discipline.
