About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Technician to join our team at Huel. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues to identify and repair faulty components, keeping accurate records of work performed.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures, and apply quick and effective solutions.
  • Implement preventive measures to avoid recurring problems and minimize future downtime, collaborating with automation partners where appropriate.
  • Support during factory acceptance (FAT) site acceptance tests and installation activities during site setup.
  • Provide training and support to operators and other staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for repairs and maintenance, identifying and ordering necessary replacements.
  • Provide input and feedback on potential improvements to existing systems, collaborating closely with the Automation Engineering function to optimize equipment and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.

Requirements

  • This role will best suit someone with a practical engineering background and 3+ years of relevant experience in industry.
  • Proven experience of maintaining and optimizing automated manufacturing equipment within a factory environment, from installation and commissioning, through to running and performance improvements.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, using initiative to solve breakdowns and optimize equipment.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) platform and preferably knowledge of maintenance requirements within regulated environments operating to recognized food safety or pharmaceutical standards (ie BRC).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across Production, Engineering, and Operations teams.
