About the Role

The Study Group is seeking a highly skilled Academic Tutor to join our team at the University of Sheffield International College. As an Academic Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching Level 3 and Level 6 modules within our Social Science and Humanities pathways, delivered to groups of international students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess students in Level 3 and Level 6 modules within the Social Science and Humanities pathways
  • Mark a variety of assessments and provide feedback to students
  • Act as a Module Coordinator, leading the teaching team and ensuring that teaching materials are up to date
  • Develop and implement formative and summative assessments
  • Work flexibly as part of a busy team, contributing in meetings and communicating effectively with colleagues
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant subject and experience of teaching Social Science, Humanities or a related field in UK Higher Education, Further Education, Sixth form or equivalent teaching experience.

  • PhD or Master's degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience of teaching Social Science, Humanities or a related field in UK Higher Education, Further Education, Sixth form or equivalent teaching experience
  • Experience of writing and marking assessments at a minimum of RQF level 3 (A-level/ Foundation level) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in module coordination or equivalent experience
  • Experience in identifying and implementing module enhancement needs and opportunities
  • Advanced ability to navigate Virtual Learning Environments
  • Strong competence in use of IT tools for teaching and administration
