Job Title: Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our North Mental Health and Wellness Team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to adults with mental health needs in Northern Barking and Dagenham.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work alongside other Adult Consultant Psychiatrists, a Specialty Doctor, and trainees to provide senior medical support and guidance to the team. You will be responsible for working directly with adults and their families, liaising with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals, and participating in the on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team
  • Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals
  • Participate in the on-call rota with a 3% on-call supplement
  • Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member
  • Work alongside other Adult Consultant Psychiatrists, a Specialty Doctor, and trainees
Person Specification:
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
