Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Pre-Litigation Fee Earner in our Preston Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a high-volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA Portal claims following the MOJ process.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Case Management: Progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
  2. Claim Identification: Identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
  3. Case Escalation: Identify cases that have an element of serious injury and escalate the cases and remove from the Portal. You will be supervised and supported by a recognised solicitor within the team.
  4. Expert Witness Management: Instructing Barristers to represent clients at hearings and obtain formal advice over issues of quantum.
  5. Third-Party Liaison: Instructing Medical Agencies and Engineers and liaising with third parties.
  6. Administrative Support: Undertaking other duties reasonably required by partners or senior management.
Person Specification:
  1. Essential Skills:
    1. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
    2. A good understanding of the MOJ process.
    3. Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
    4. Proven IT skills and ability to adapt to new technology.
    5. Strong administrative and organisational skills.
    6. Excellent communication skills including oral and written presentation skills.
    7. The ability to provide a high level of client care.
  2. Desirable Skills:
    1. Preferably claimant orientated.
    2. Proficient with Proclaim Case Management, although training will be provided.
    3. Experience of Infant Approval Hearings and Stage 3 hearings.
  3. Personal Attributes:
    1. Self-motivation to work independently and as part of a team with a 'can do' attitude.
    2. Good interpersonal skills.
    3. A positive approach to working under pressure in a busy environment.
    4. Methodical approach to tasks and problem solving.
