Job Description

Role: Land Referencing Specialist

Location: Remote with occasional travel

Key Accountabilities & Job Overview:

  • Apply a robust land referencing methodology to demonstrate diligent/reasonable enquiry ahead of public consultation and application submission.
  • Request and manage information from landowners and stakeholders.
  • Interpret complex land registry title plans and registers.
  • Manage land data and produce statutory compliant books of reference and compulsory purchase order schedules.
  • Produce land plans, order plans, deposited plans, and rights of way plans.
  • Secure land access for surveys.
  • Prepare and submit statutory acquisition notices.
  • Report on notice returns.
  • Monitor and manage site notices using mobile technology.
  • Represent the company at hearings and public inquiries.
  • Develop and implement land referencing strategies.
  • Provide consultation and landowner engagement services.
  • Support the optioneering process.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

  • Degree educated in a relevant field, such as geography, geospatial science, estate management, or property management.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow clear instructions to tight deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the importance of handling confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to work in a team and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Positive approach to learning new skills and systems.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages, including MS Word and Excel.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of land registry title plans and registers.
  • Understanding of compulsory purchase legislation.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems.
  • Driver's license.
