Chief Electrical Engineering Specialist

RINA is currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to enhance its team within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.
Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Principal Consultant to join our Asset and Product Consulting (APC) Business Line. This role involves leading the acquisition and execution of consultancy projects that focus on electrical plant assets, including Transformers, Generators, and Switchgear.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the design, assurance, condition assessment, and failure investigation for Transformers, Generators, and Switchgear.
• Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
• Develop consultancy proposals, including technical methodologies and pricing, in partnership with our commercial team.
• Act as Project and Technical Lead, ensuring the effective delivery of engineering consultancy projects.
• Mentor and enhance the technical and consulting skills of junior team members.
• Represent RINA at industry seminars and conferences to uphold our leadership in sector advancements.
• Contribute to the enhancement of RINA's service offerings in Asset Integrity.
What We Are Seeking
• Educational Qualifications: A minimum of a 2:1 bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related STEM discipline (BEng, MEng, MSc, or PhD). A postgraduate degree and Chartered Engineer status are advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in at least one, and proficiency in at least two of the following: Transformers, Generators, Switchgear. Knowledge in at least one and proficiency in at least two of the following: Asset Design/Assurance, Condition Assessment, Failure Investigation.
• Consultancy Background: A proven history of delivering engineering consultancy projects on schedule and within budget, with strong client relationship management capabilities.
• Business Development Acumen: Experience in securing engineering consultancy projects and familiarity with stakeholders in the petrochemical and/or renewable energy sectors.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional report writing abilities, producing high-quality, objective, and concise technical consultancy reports.
• Willingness to Travel: Capability to travel globally (10-25% of the time) and work on-site (10-15% of the time) for project execution.
• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability in tasking and supervising project team members.
• Safety and Professionalism: Commitment to the safe and professional use of laboratory equipment.
• Desirable Skills: Experience with the digitization of Asset Integrity consultancy, such as predictive health, condition monitoring, and client user-interfaces.
