Pyramid8 is collaborating with a prominent Scientific Organization to recruit a Software Quality Specialist to enhance their production team.

This organization is a leading manufacturer and provider of instrumentation and software tailored for the Life Science Sector. Candidates should ideally possess a background in software testing or quality assurance, with experience in a laboratory or scientific environment.


Qualifications: A degree in a scientific discipline is essential, along with experience in a comparable role or within the realms of Drug Discovery or Environmental Science.


This organization is dedicated to excellence, delivering top-tier products and outstanding service. The Software Quality Specialist will be based in their office, collaborating with the development team and engaging closely with other QA team members, as well as directly with Software Developers and Service Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct final testing of globally recognized software products prior to market release.
  • Provide constructive feedback from testing conducted at critical stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Play a vital role in the development of software systems and instrument functionality tests, serving as the last line of defense before software deployment.
  • Execute regulatory controlled software validations for highly regulated clients, which may include both standard and customized validations at client facilities.


The clientele utilizing this software operates within drug discovery and nuclear medicine sectors. A scientific background in these areas, along with knowledge of HPLC, GC, and other chromatography techniques, would be significantly advantageous.


Testing Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and execute testing protocols that have been refined over the years, ensuring quality prior to release.
  • Test new functionalities to confirm proper operation and report any findings back to developers.
  • Adapt and transition between various projects as needed.


Additional Skills:

  • Performance and functional testing expertise.
  • Proficient in writing, updating, and executing test scripts.
  • Ability to document and report bugs effectively.
  • Work towards departmental and project deadlines.
  • Provide objective feedback to software development teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality results.
  • Willingness to travel, including international trips.
  • A valid driving license.


Experience: Familiarity with software testing methodologies is essential.
