About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to lead our Civil Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate project research, including site surveys and site inspections, to ensure accurate and comprehensive project data.
  • Prepare bid and contract documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prove ability in financial arrangements for projects, including fee forecasting, fee preparation, and allocation.
  • Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety, quality, and training, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide guidance, instruction, motivation, and management to assigned staff on the project, ensuring their skills and knowledge are developed and utilized effectively.
  • Responsible for the competency assessment of staff involved in the project, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Ability to organize and conduct several activities simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Establish relationships with individuals from other organizations, generating market intelligence and new business opportunities.
  • Able to prepare single discipline bid documentation, in association with other disciplines.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer who possesses a strong background in civil engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects. You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers.

  • BEng/MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, MICE.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience or knowledge of resourcing, progress measurement, earned value analysis, completion forecasting, and status reporting.
  • A confident and professional manner, coupled with excellent communication skills, with clients and colleagues alike, to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and proven ability to deliver to deadlines.
