Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Superintendent to join our team at Navis Consulting. As a Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the efficient operations of our cruise ships, working closely with the ship management team to ensure safe, economic, and efficient vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical management and performance of vessels, including well intervention equipment, and technical budget management.
- On-shore contact point for vessels in day-to-day operations related to technical management and mobilization activities.
- Monitoring, ensuring, and verifying that vessels operate in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Ensuring statutory and classification surveys for all plant and equipment on vessels are carried out.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance to prevent technical/operational non-conformities that may lead to downtime.
- Contributing to the continued improvement of the maintenance system by providing feedback to the Fleet Manager.
- Planning, controlling, and executing all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion, or modification of assigned vessels.
- Planning, controlling, and executing all activities connected to class and flag state survey and certificate requirements and building effective liaison with relevant authorities.
Requirements:
- Recognized Engineering (Chief/2nd engineer unlimited license) or Naval Architecture qualification and/or relevant experience at sea.
- Good communication (oral and written) and English language skills.
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent in a Leisure/Cruise Technical Department.
- Financial understanding and some experience in administering budgets.
- Diesel Electric and Podded Drive experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of Complex Automation systems either in the Shore management or experience.
