Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Lead to join our Policy and Regulatory Reform team within the Partnerships group at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will involve working closely with our team to drive forward policy work, including development and delivery, on cross-Agency themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing policy, guidance, and legislation as needed, working with lawyers and regulatory experts.
  • Advising and briefing senior officials on policy issues related to the regulation of medicines and healthcare products.
  • Communicating complex regulatory policy into clear and concise policy recommendations.
  • Leading conversations with internal and external stakeholders, including patient groups, the NHS, and industry trade associations.
  • Involvement in other activities in the Partnerships Group, including leading relationships or working on cross-cutting policy issues.

Requirements:

  • Substantial policy experience in the civil service or other organizations.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and understand the impact of policy decisions.
  • Delivering at pace and meeting deadlines.
  • Changing and improving processes and procedures.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Career experience in life sciences, regulatory policy, or patient safety is desirable.
