Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Hurstpierpoint College. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash and sanitize all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment to maintain a high level of hygiene.
  • Ensure that all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, bins, and delivery areas, are kept clean and tidy.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Report any accidents or near misses to the Chef and ensure that all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Assist with food preparation and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards.
Requirements
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Basic food-handling skills and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy items.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
